Integration of the UN sustainable development goals

Beijer Ref sees opportunities to be able to participate in and influence several of the 17 Global Goals in Agenda 2030. Goals that are particularly important for the Group and directly linked to the company’s assignments and business are the following:

Equality

We work with information and activities to increase the proportion of women in leading positions and influence diversity in a positive direction at all levels.

Decent working conditions and economic growth

Work environment and good working conditions for our employees are priority areas. Through our code of conduct, we make demands on our suppliers for the same. Through good products and clear installation instructions, we make sure to take responsibility for our customers, the installers, also having a safe working environment.

Responsible consumption and production

We spread our expertise in environmentally friendly refrigerants within the Group and to our customers. We allocate resources to train our customers, suppliers and employees in environmentally friendly refrigeration technology. Our strategy and objectives are linked to the United Nation’s seventeen sustainable development goals. We have assessed that we can primarily make a difference by focusing on five of the seventeen goals in order for our work to do as much good as possible. This has since resulted in five focus areas - the environment, employees, business ethics & anti-corruption, responsible supply chain and partnerships.

Fighting climate change

Beijer Ref works actively to minimize its and the industry's climate impact. By taking the lead when it comes to developing refrigeration technology based on natural refrigerants, we help reduce the use of environmentally impacting HFC refrigerants, which when released have a negative impact on the global warming. We develop our own product series based on environmentally friendly refrigerants. Beijer Ref develops proposals for activities that can be implemented to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The various countries must then take responsibility for implementing the method that suits their particular business.

Peace, justice and strong institutions

We work with high ethics and morals and have zero tolerance for bribes and unethical behaviour. Ethical guidelines have been developed that all employees must live up to. We have also developed a training in business ethics which should have reached all employees in 2021. The whistle-blower function is implemented throughout the organization and counteracts serious violations.
